This is the classic version of the rack that established Adona Corporation as a respected name in the high-end audio arena. Its sonic signature is remarkably neutral—completely flat across the entire audio spectrum—delivering exceptional focus, a lifelike soundstage, and tight, accurate bass response, all without any added coloration.
This timeless design has remained unchanged since the first units were sold in 2001. Many of our customers are pleased to discover that even eight years later—or more—they can still add shelves to their existing rack, with perfect fit and matching aesthetics.

Quality Materials and Construction
These racks are handcrafted using only premium-grade materials and are meticulously computer-modeled and stress-analyzed to ensure superior performance. They incorporate a substantial number of custom-machined and fabricated components, which contributes to a higher manufacturing cost compared to other products. However, the performance they deliver surpasses that of many competitive racks priced significantly higher. Proudly made in the USA!
Our renowned three-element platforms combine the benefits of multiple advanced material technologies. The top layer, made of genuine granite, offers striking visual appeal, a diamond-hard surface, and substantial mass for stability. Beneath it, the inner conduction layer functions as a band-pass filter, channeling vibrational energy to the lower damping layer—effectively isolating equipment and enhancing sonic performance.

At Adona, we use aluminum for the vertical columns and steel for the horizontal cross beams—a deliberate material pairing that addresses a critical issue we call the "cage effect." This phenomenon occurs in frames made entirely of aluminum, where vibrational energy loops through the structure and feeds back into itself, particularly along the longitudinal axis. Simply applying damping material to the surface doesn’t resolve the problem.
To illustrate, drop an aluminum extension ladder on the ground and listen to the loud clang it produces. That ringing sound is a perfect example of the cage effect—a sonic characteristic inherent to all-aluminum frames.
Our solution is simple and effective: by combining materials with different mechanical properties—aluminum for columns and steel for beams—we break up these vibrational pathways. The result? Adona rack frames are among the quietest in the industry, delivering outstanding acoustic isolation and sonic neutrality.
The support columns, extruded from aluminum, feature full length T-slots or channels. These slots provide attachment points along the entire length of the strut through the use of a special nut called a T-nut. This design has been used for many years now in the construction of industrial furniture and machinery frames. It is strong and versatile.
These caps serve several functions on the Adona rack. Obviously they add a "finishing touch" to the top of the column, but more importunately they provide a means of coupling (or decoupling) and allow platforms or additional rack layers to be placed above the columns.
The primary function of spiking is to focus the weight of the rack onto an infinitely small surface area, although some floor finishes make the use of such devices impractical. Therefore, we offer optional floor discs, as well as glides and casters. Includes: brass floor cones, shown with optional glides.
